OUR STORY
WHAT CAME FIRST THE SURFER OR THE DESIGNER?
My story starts with growing up in Victoria, Australia and spending every weekend chasing the swell along the renowned Great Ocean Road in my trusty Volkswagon station wagon. At that time, I was studying graphic design at Prahan College and soon learned my passion for surfing was a huge influence in fueling my creative side.
Over the years apart from functioning in the commercial world of graphic design in leading advertising agencies for some renowned brands (and then becoming freelance for more flexibility to get to the surf ), I collected more than a few industry accolades along the way and kept the passion going.
I was drawn to move to Tasmania soon after a surf trip in my mid-twenties following those southerly swells. Being an island, you’ve pretty much got opportunities on all coastlines at one time or another - it’s bloody cold but damn well worth it. This is where I based myself for over 20 years as a freelance creative whilst hopping back and forth to Melbourne and Queensland for interstate clients.
I can happily say that I’ve spent time on just about every coastline of Australia with some awesome overseas trips thrown in along the way. These days I'm based on the Sunshine Coast so I’m in the water and creating art at every chance I get. The combination of the lifestyle and climate here fuels the inspiration for all my works.
